It’s a pleasure to work with such selfless drivers, professional coordinators and Operations Director. Our patients are interesting, grateful, cheerful in adversity and lovely.

Newbury and district cancer care are responsible for providing a peaceful and respectful place for my father to pass away comfortably in the presence of loved ones. The rainbow rooms at west Berkshire community hospital are a god send!

Dave Ormrod, whose wife Lynne recently passed away in one of the Rainbow Rooms commented “The thought that the cuddle bed could be available for partners to be closer to their loved one at such a difficult time sends shivers down my spine - what a wonderful idea. Such compassionate thinking by a caring organisation has inspired me to help, and to join NCC as a trustee and advocate of their fantastic work.”

After the shock of diagnoses, there was the added problem of getting to hospital appointments on time and trying to park. Luckily I was told about Newbury Cancer Care. All the volunteer staff and drivers have been wonderful, getting me to appointments on time. I don't think we would have coped without them. A big thank you to you all.

Thank you once again for your help and that of the drivers.  This had made this challenge so much easier for me. 

Staying with him in The Rainbow Rooms through his last days meant we were able to be by his side right to the end. That meant so much to us

Without the rainbow room we would of never got to spend as much time with him over these days as we did! It brought the whole family together

The Newbury and District Cancer Care Trust were there for Dad from the beginning and used to provide transport for dad to get to and from hospital over the past 6+ years.  Dad always said he didn't know what he would do without the charity.

My local district nurse put in an application to help myself and my family with the general costs associated with being a cancer patient and oh my did they come through for us. Thank you ever so much to everyone at the Newbury Cancer Care Trust. You are bloody amazing and just thank you so much xxx

Completely invaluable. Took one worry away at a difficult time and could not have coped without these caring and selfless volunteers. Will always be grateful.

Thank you for helping me through the last couple of weeks getting to and from hospital.

Please pass on a huge thank you to all the people involved in organising and providing transport - they were all such lovely, friendly people which made things less stressful for me.
