Rainbow Rooms

The Rainbow Rooms were built as part of a special project organised by Newbury Cancer Care, formerly known as Newbury & District Cancer Care Trust, and are based at the West Berkshire Community Hospital. There are four Rainbow Rooms, two on Highclere Ward and two on Donnington Ward. The Rainbow Rooms are managed by West Berkshire Community Hospital and their fantastic nurses and are situated in the main hospital building.

These rooms provide facilities combining the comfort & privacy of a private room with connecting doors to an adjoining family room, equipped with a kitchenette and a sofa bed, to allow family members to stay at the hospital with their loved one who is at the end stage of life.  Each Rainbow Room has a Cuddle Bed which is a hospital bed that extends to a small double, allowing the family to lay on the bed with their relative.

For referral or to enquire about a patient at the Rainbow Rooms please contact West Berkshire Community Hospital reception on 01635 273300 and ask for Highclere Ward.
